Growing and looking forward to the New Year

Wow it has been 3 months since we opened! It has been very crazy with tons of changes... We have had our first Halloween, first Christmas and now our first New Years! Now we are on a new adventure for 2015! Details to follow for that big surprise!

Lets show you what we have been up to..

One new product in our store is Sallazzo Move it and Comfort on the Go shoes. Move it's can be worn for dance and yoga. Built with an amazing leather sole and breathable fabrics. There is nothing better to work out in. Comfort on the Go are exactly what they say! Comfort for the feet after you have had a long day in those nasty work shoes! Warm terry insoles with leather bottoms.
Look at this amazing little girls cape! Dad has a kilt and Mom has a dress made from this Tartan and wanted something for there little girl to get Christmas pics in! Something she can grow into and keep forever!

This is one of my most special moments in my career. I was involved in the attaching of the Chain of Office for the Mayor of Mississauga! How awesome is that. The designer Corrine Anestopoulos owner of  Biko Jewellery who created this amazing piece for Mayor Bonnie Crombie is an absolute charm to work with! Please check out her beautiful collection at www.ilovebiko.com

I am looking forward to the New Year! Lots of new things to share with you over the next few weeks.

Cheers

I would like to take this time and thank all for their patience in our transition to our new location. We decided to move from our home to a retail location. It has been a long journey in trying to find a suitable space for me as well as our customers. After 2 years the space has been found. 334 Kingston Rd is the new home for Janet's Custom Sewing & Alterations. Please feel free to stop in Monday to Friday 9-6 and Saturdays 9-4.

Its not how you finished, it's that you finished!

Being in Business has its ups and downs almost daily. I have learned many things from my past boss's, supervisors and a lot from friends. Some of these things have been good information and some not so much. But most of all I have learned from everyone of them. I love my Business and appreciate everyday that I get to do what I love. Life has enough stress why make it harder by doing something you hate. My wish to my children is they find that passion in their career choice.  Here is some of my "love" that I created for my recent clients.

I will tell I am happy cushion season is over! Now on to the wedding parties.!

I do it for the people..

If you know me you know I love what I do. My customers receive the best service possible to them and their garments. Sometimes I receive lovely gifts for what I do. This week I received "thank you" gifts.

Thank you to my customers! Without you there would be no

Busy Busy Busy

Wow it has been a crazy month. People coming and going , family events and just plain old summer time fun. So some things I have taken photos of and some things I  forgot to! But that's what happen when you try and run things on your own!

This is what my work area looks like! My husband keeps reminding that I said I like to sew lol.

The top photo is black sound proof rubber wall put up by my customers husband. It blocks the noise so you can sit and enjoy you deck! Good idea but she calls it the "Dexter" wall lol. She wanted them covered! So I made her curtains for both sides with Velcro tabs and side ties to hold them closed and she loves them. They brightened up her deck and now it doesn't look like bad things are happening behind the big black wall!
(Pardon the wrinkles, was pressed before I took them to her, but its organic hemp outdoor fabric that wrinkles if you touch it but will hang nicely and unwrinkle on its own. )

Please do stay tuned for the big reveal of our company we are adding to our existing one!

Whats been happening

We are in the depth of the warm weather lately. With that warm sunshine many people are getting their back  yards ready for their entertaining season. With that comes many many cushions that need to be recovered as quick as we can. So we have been sewing up a storm with cushions on top of cushions for their beautiful yards. Take a look!

You are welcome to contact us to recover your cushions. We take about 7-10 days to get them completed for you.

Cheers

Two talents come together

A customer of mine asked me to make little outfits for girls for Caribana. This would make the little ones feel just as special as the adults. Well I can sew but I am not much on blinging things up!

This is how two talents come together on a project! The time and patience this lady and her family ! You did a great job!

What an amazing bunch! The girls look awesome. Thanks for sharing your talents with me!

Cheers
